We’ve had an amazing start of the 2018-2019 school year! Our first big event was the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) Kick-off! We began with an explanation of our expectations in the different areas of the school. We ended with a high energy assembly… including minute-to-win-it games for staff and students followed by a short dance party.
What is PBIS?
PBIS is a process we are using throughout the district to create a school-environment that is more predictable and effective for achieving academic and social goals. Through PBIS, we are aiming to maintain a social culture that is highly conducive to learning.
The 4 B’s!
We have 4 school-wide expectations:
BE SAFE – BE RESPECTFUL – BE RESPONSIBLE – BE READY TO LEARN
How Can Parents Help Support PBIS?
Family involvement in a child’s education increases a child’s likelihood of success. Your help with our behavior system is very important. We ask that you support your child(ren) in the following ways: Please remind your child of the school’s behavior expectations each day before he/she leaves
BE READY TO LEARN
• Ask your child to give examples of how he/she demonstrated expectations while at school.
• Praise your child for following those expectations while at school.
