AbbVie Week of Possibilities 2015!

    The work was completed as part of the second annual Week of Possibilities, a global service initiative piloted by AbbVie in 2014. This year, more than 1,300 AbbVie volunteers, including members of the senior management team, shelved books, assembled furniture, moved boxes, painted hallways, weeded gardens and cleaned classrooms in North Chicago, demonstrating AbbVie’s commitment to transforming education in the communities where its employees live and work. With expert guidance and facilitation from the partner organizations, approximately 1,200 AbbVie volunteers invested 5,100 hours of time in our school community and completed the projects summarized below:

    NEAL MATH AND SCIENCE ACADEMY
     Renovated the student library, cafeteria and teacher training room
     Painted and deep cleaned multiple offices, the locker rooms and student bathrooms
     Renovated the main office to create a welcoming area for families and guests
     Cleaned the building grounds and weeded gardens

    NORTH CHICAGO COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL
     Renovated the student library
     Painted and decorated multiple offices
     Painted, deep cleaned and remodeled the staff lounge
     Created a new wrestling room and district-wide receiving room
     Painted Studio 187

    A.J. KATZENMAIER AND NORTH ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
     Painted and deep cleaned multiple spaces
     Cleaned the building grounds and weeded gardens

    GREENBAY SCHOOL EARLY LEARNING CENTER
     Renovated and cleaned every interior space in order to create an appropriate learning environment for PK       children
     Assisted PK teachers with furniture transfers and classroom set-ups
     Installed a new playground
     Constructed benches, picnic tables and a storage shed
     Cleaned the building grounds and weeded gardens
