A Message from Superintendent Dr. Constance Collins:
North Chicago Community Unit School District 187 is deeply saddened to share the unexpected passing of Jerry Bey, a cherished member of the North Chicago Community High School football coaching staff and dedicated weight room supervisor.
Coach Bey was a devoted member of our Warhawk family who poured his time, energy, and care into supporting D187. His loss is profoundly felt across our district, our football program, and the entire North Chicago community. Beyond his leadership on the field, Coach Bey championed our student-athletes' personal growth, strength, and success every day.
Honoring His Legacy
"Coach Bey was far more than a coach. He was a tremendous father figure, mentor, husband, and role model. He epitomized selflessness, pouring his heart, time, and wisdom into every athlete who crossed his path. Coach Bey changed countless lives, and his impact will continue through everyone he guided, inspired, and loved. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on forever." — Coach Hill
Our deepest thoughts and condolences go out to Coach Bey’s family, loved ones, student-athletes, and colleagues during this difficult time.
