    About Mr. Price

    John Price is a career educator who brings to D187 his commitment to do whatever it takes to ensure educational excellence and equity for all students.  He has taught 3-8 graders in all subject areas in Illinois and California. He also served as a literacy coordinator, assistant principal and then principal at Audubon Elementary School in Chicago. Under his leadership, Audubon earned the distinguished Blue Ribbon Award for Excellence from the U.S. Department of Education for outstanding improvement of student learning. John moved into district leadership for the Chicago Public Schools serving as a regional superintendent, supervising elementary and high schools for three years before leaving to become the Assistant Superintendent in Evanston.  John came to North Chicago in July of 2017.  In his time in North Chicago John has focused on dramatically improving student achievement across the district.  The district has set, and started to achieve, ambitious goals for student growth.

    A California native, John lives in Chicago with his wife and two children. When not at work, John enjoys spending time with his family outdoors, and attending dance and soccer practices. John also spends his free time reading and training for 5K and 10K races.
