Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee: Families Learn About Bullying Prevention

The Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) held the second meeting of the year featuring Dr. Fernéy Ramírez on October 19th at North Chicago Community High School (NCCHS). Attendees filled Studio 187 as Dr. Ramírez discussed the "Psychology of Bullying. Keys to Combat this Problem and Strategies for Parents."  An engaging discussion covered types of bullies in a digital age, the motivations behind the behavior, and the impact bullying can have on victims. Dr. Ramírez provided an active workshop teaching families strategies to prevent and respond to bullying.

In addition to an informative presentation, families could share food and coffee, including pan dulce, cafecito, flan, churros, and more. The district 187 Multilingual Department raffled gift baskets with gift cards to conclude the event.

Thank you to all who attended and made the event a success. Thank you to Dr. Ramírez and the D187 Multilingual department for planning the event.
