NJROTC Drill Team Soars to Success
North Chicago, IL - Chief Colón, USN (ret) and NJROTC Naval Science Instructor, is proud to announce the outstanding performance of the North Chicago High School NJROTC Drill Team at the Area 15 Drill Meet Competition held at Rich Township High School.
This accomplishment is awe-inspiring, considering the team's recent formation. With only 14 dedicated cadets in October, the NJROTC program started holding daily practice sessions at 7:30 am. Their commitment is evident from their recent success.
Facing larger and more experienced programs like Zion-Benton (225 cadets), East Aurora (450 cadets), and Rickover Academy (500 cadets), the North Chicago team, with only 82 cadets, never wavered. Their hard work paid off at their third competition, where they earned their first medal and a commendable third-place finish. This momentum continued at their fourth competition, where they secured five medals and a fourth-place finish.
"I'm highly impressed and elated with the amount of work, dedication, and motivation these cadets bring every day," stated Chief Colón. "They are truly on track for greatness."
The NJROTC Drill Team's dedication and perseverance inspire everyone, demonstrating the power of hard work and commitment to achieve success!
