Children who did not attend District 187 the previous year are considered "new" and must provide proof of residency.
Proof of Residency
Proof of residency is required for all new students and those entering:
Early Childhood (both years)
Kindergarten
Grades 4, 6, and 9
Three current proofs of residency are required:
Real estate tax bill
Lease or mortgage statement
Two utility bills (cell phone bills not accepted)
An All Kids or voter registration card may be presented in place of a utility bill.
Parents/guardians must also show a driver's license or state ID.

In person: By appointment or during open registration events.

General Registration Information
We encourage you to register your child(ren) as soon as possible to help ensure that schools and students are well prepared for the first day of school.
All students must be up-to-date with physical examination and immunization requirements, or they will not be allowed to attend school on the first day. For more information, visit d187.org/page/health-requirements.
The Lake County Health Department offers vaccinations for adults, infants, and children at its community health centers. Call (847) 377-8800 to schedule an appointment.
Children must be three years old by September 1st to enter preschool.
Children must be five years old by September 1st to enter kindergarten. A child who will be six years old on or before September 1st must attend school.
